FADERMASTERS
Fader Mountain Sound Inc.
25 February 2012
It was only a matter of time, and we've finally made the huge leap forward that we needed since FaderMaster Studios began more than 4 years ago. It's been a wild ride at 3424 Commercial Street, but it's off to West 7th Avenue we go. This weekend we are officially emptying Fader Master and moving all the technological glory to our new...
Fader Master Sound Studios Inc.

HI-RES

WHO WE ARE

More studio owners and engineers under one roof.

We're part of Fader Mountain Sound Inc., and in one of the best studio facilities in Vancouver.

We believe in what we do as much as you believe in what you do.

It's simple and we love it, and we have a lot of machines that help us do it.

WHAT IT IS

It's a recording studio.

The Control room is where faders are pushed. The Live Room is where sounds are made.

Studio B is huge, studio C is perfect for overdubs. Both rooms give great sound.

Sit in the lounge, watch TV, play XBOX or Playstation, surf the web.

Walk up the street to one of the million restaurants or cafes on Cambie, Broadway or Main Street.

WHAT GOES ON

Anything and everything to do with sound.

It could be music, television, film or secret testing for the government.

All the Fader Masters want to make, capture or shape the sound you want.

WHAT YOU GET

What you came for. We make sure of it. We don't sleep, so the studio never sleeps....

We've been lucky enough to have so many great artists, labels and people come through our doors since 2007.

This is why our space has grown along with our client list since we opened.

Much love to everyone who's shaped their sounds with Fader Master.

KUNSTKOPF

(German: artificial head). A STEREOPHONIC recording system developed in Germany which employs an artificial head sitting on a resonator similar to a chest cavity. The recording MICROPHONEs are situated within the head, inside an anatomically correct ear canal, at the point where the human eardrum is located. Artificial PINNAE are carefully designed for accurate reflection of the incoming sound in order to achieve the good front-back and height-depth perspective for which the technique is noted.

MONOPHONIC

(Greek: monos = one; phone = sound) A form of reproduction which records, transmits and reproduces the original sound along a single CHANNEL, regardless of the number of loudspeakers used. All components of the sound are combined or MIXed into one SIGNAL, including AMBIENCE and REVERBERATION, and therefore only the sense of depth may be simulated or reproduced.

AUDIO FREQUENCY

Any FREQUENCY in the audible RANGE, usually between 20 and 20,000 Hz, and often referring to the frequency of AUDIO signals. Also called the audio spectrum.

TONE

A single sound of definite, recognizable PITCH. It also refers to the SONORITY or the quality of TIMBRE of a particular sound or sounding instrument. In British musical usage the word is also employed to refer to the INTERVAL of a major SECOND.
